Chronology
The Jackal is an elusive assassin who makes his living by carrying out murders for top pay. He soon meets his match: a dogged British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The “Day of the Jackal” novel is set in 1963 and concerns an assassination attempt on then-French President Charles de Gaulle.
I love everything Eddie Redmayne does
The show shifts the setting to the current era. Referenced in Graham Norton likes: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). He has a vulnerability that always motivates me to delve deeper into the characters.
Neither her acting nor her on-screen persona is worth it
As a cold assassin, I think that’s a bit far-fetched, but as a “hiding in plain sight” it makes perfect sense. As others have noted, the female lead just ruined the fun for me. Why she keeps getting badass female roles is beyond me.
Her character doesn’t help her either
We have so many other talented actors to choose from. I didn’t think much of her in Captain Marvel, liked it even less when she wore the number 007 and now every time she shows up she just ruins the scenes. I will watch the show to the end but…
Season 2 already renewed
it’s so sad that this show won’t be back. I don’t know how the story will end yet, but I hope we can swap out the Bianca character somehow.
